36th Fajr to host 3 first-film premieres

The 36th edition of the Fajr Film Festival (FFF) has set to host three premieres of first-film directors.

The directors whose first films will go on screen at the 36th FFF include Reza Maqsoudi, Mehran Ahmadi, and Nima Eqlima.

Reza Maqsoudi’s ‘Don’t Be Embarrassed’ narrates the story of a couple in old ages, who is expecting a baby. The situation gets worse for them when their son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchild, and neighbors learn about the pregnancy.

Stars such as Ahmad Mehranfar, Shabnam Moqaddami, and Linda Kiani are among the flick cast.

Set in the US and Armenia, Mehran Ahmadi’s ‘Confiscation’ is a comedy that follows the story of a SAVAK (Iran's security service before the Islamic Revolution) agent escaping to the US after the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

The feature-length comedy stars Reza Attaran, Houman Seyyedi, Babak Hamidiyan and Mir-Taher Mazloumi.

A short synopsis for Nima Eqlima’s ‘Amir’ read “Everyone commits suicide, just in different ways; one with work, one with money, one with life, and one with cigar.”

Milad Keymaram, Hadi Kazemi, Mostafa Qadiri, Behdokht Valian, Vahid Manafi, and Sahar Dowlatshahi are among ‘Amir’ cast.

Established in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran every year.

The 36th edition of the Fajr Film Festival is slated for February 1-11, 2018, in Iran.
